The Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act banned products designed for children under 12 and under that have not met the lead limit requirements. Products such as helmets used new, current and non current ATVs, motorcycles, collectibles, apparel, parts and accessories.
The penalties for such violation up to $100,000 per violation and up to $15 million for repeated violations. This new law affects over 13,000 franchised and non franchised dealers and other off-road related businesses.
This new law affects millions of dollars in sales that cannot be completed. The OHV commerce is already suffering and this just adds another blow.
